Before you start
What we need, and what sits outside our fee
- From you: the property address, a few photos, and any existing drawings, planning approvals or surveys you have. We arrange the measured survey with you.
- Not in our fee: council planning and building control fees, and specialist reports a council asks for, such as a tree survey or flood risk assessment, unless your fee proposal lists them.
- Your fee proposal sets out exactly what is included for your project before any work starts.

Common questions
When should interior design start?
At the same time as the planning or building regulations drawings. Kitchen layout, lighting and joinery affect window positions, beams and services, so they are far cheaper to settle on paper than to change on site.
Can you design interiors without building work?
Yes. Most of our interior work goes with an extension, loft or renovation we are drawing, but we also design kitchens, bathrooms and whole-house refurbishments on their own.
How is the fee worked out?
It depends on the number of rooms and how far you want us to go, from layouts and a material palette to full joinery drawings and a furniture schedule. We agree a fixed fee before we start.
Do you supply the furniture and fittings?
We specify them, with suppliers and costs, so you or your builder can order them. We can also help you compare quotes.
